My iWork arrived today. What's different about the posted method than opening an existing keynote document and then selecting File -> Save Theme... (which saves it in the iWork/Themes folder)?

I should point out two negatives: first disappointment is that there is now a software serial number that you need to enter. Second disappointment is that you must run as administrator and enter them. If you run as a regular user and enter them, they aren't accepted.

Having said that, Pages works just like Keynote: it takes a while to get used to, but once you do, it is very efficient.

Well, if you'd never used either of those themes before in a presentation of your own, you wouldn't have a saved document to open :). Other than that, I believe they work the same.

Regarding the serial number: Yes, it's a bit of a hassle. The good news is that there's still no activation: it doesn't send it out to the net to verify it against a list of "known pirated" serials, for instance.
