Internet sharing through Firewire and Ethernet ports

FireWire connection is easy.
Network -. Show: Network Port Confurations, New Tab, Port: Built-in FireWire. tick, Select. Show Built-in Firewire. Configure either Manually or DHCP depending upon Server or Client setup respectively.

Server-- Sharing share your conection from anywhere to Built-in Firewire
Client -- In network note served address ie 198.162.2.2 because the Server address will then be 198.162.2.1 with the same subnet mask

For the firewall I like:

sudo ipfw add 3000 allow tcp from any to any via fw?
where ? is the firewire device indicated in netstat -nr

Thanks, at some point I will want to use a firewire connection...

But I was more pointing out that the title of the post say's firewire
where it should say firewall.

I guess, now people will get what they expect with you firewire pointer

a typo I often make myself...

Internet sharing through Firewire and Ethernet ports

Nope, there is no typo my friend. The title refers to the fact that it is possible to share your internet connection though both Ethernet AND Firewire connections, which means that the Firewire cable is used for the same purpose than an Ethernet cable.
