Print from Windows XP to Mac-connected USB printers
Authored by: whitefael on Jan 16, '05 01:03:03AM

Just wanted to add my experience... I tried using the Rendezvous for WinXP last year, but didn't have any luck with my Canon S750. I just installed the latest release (Technology Preview 3 - Dec 01 2004), and everything worked perfectly. I didn't get the printing error that the original poster mentioned. I just followed the first six bullet points and tried printing a couple of pages. I was overjoyed to hear the printer running!

I'm not sure if this is required or not, but I turned printer sharing ON for the iMac that my USB printer is connected to. Just go to System Preferences > Sharing and select Printer Sharing in the list.

Just downloaded the bonjour for windows and was looking through the .doc that comes with it:

Currently, the Rendezvous Printer Wizard will not discover printers being shared by the Mac OS X Printer Sharing feature because Mac OS X Printer Sharing does not use Rendezvous.

intresting.... might see printer sharing changing to bonjour? which is good for those among us who dont have airport :)
