I currently have WeatherMenu <http://www.afterten.com/products/weathermenu/index.html>. How does this one compare, has anyone used both? I've bought a license to WeatherMenu years ago, and it's worked well. Lately I've noticed it getting slower though.

i've been using weathermenu for some time now. weatherpop doesn't give you a radar, which i think is a must. meteo has one, but it's a much more general map.

the unfortunate thing about weathermenu is that the developer has stopped releasing it as a menu extra, so you can't move it around in the menu bar.

if weatherpop showed a radar, i'd buy it; it has much nicer icons and such.

WeatherMenu is better, IMO. More data presentation options. More types of data available for display. Integrated radar viewer for your location and others. Better (more) types of graphical feedback in the menu bar icon (moon phases, fog, wind, cloud cover, etc.). Best of all, it's cheaper--$5.

Don't let the previous comment about it no longer being a menu extra trip you up. Virtually nothing is a menu extra any more, because Apple clamped down one what can be a Menu Extra. Basically only Apple's own stuff can be slid around and customized. Everything else appears in loaded order to the left of Apple's Menu Extras.

Oh, I forgot to mention, the only thing that could be better with WeatherMenu is the performance hit when it's updating. That's why I'd rate WeatherMenu a 9 instead of a 10.

Consequently, if WeatherMenu is worth a 9, WeatherPop should be less than 9 since it has fewer features and costs more.
