Burn DivX/AVI movies to CD

Is it absolutely necessary to use the DVD-ROM UDF format for some DivX players? I have two DivX players, and both have always worked fine on CDs I wrote using the "Mac & PC" setting. I'd just like to verify that there really are problems with this setting on some DivX players, then I'd better start using the UDF format in case I ever buy a new player so that I can still play the CDs I write now.

Burn DivX/AVI movies to CD

Hi,

I've burned avi's onto CD-R via Toast's Mac/Pc setting with no problems.

However, I cannot seem to get the subtitles to work on my foreign movies. Either my dvd player can't open the .srt file or it's the way I burned the disc.

Any tips on how to get subtitle tracks to work?

Thanks.

I can only comment on the kiss dvd players that also play divx, xvids vcd, svcd, dvds, mpegs mp3, web radio etc.

They dont need any specially formatted cd's. I just use the standard data cd setting in toast and they work fine for me and never fail.
