Nazarene Compassionate Ministries

Most of the organizations mentioned already in this topic are in place in this region and began responding within moments. They need your donation. Find one that's close to you and ask what's needed.

I belong to the Church of the Nazarene. This is where my donation is going. From the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries website:

Within hours of the disaster, NCM local field workers in India were mobilized to respond. Drinking water, food, mats, and clothes were assembled for distribution. In Sri Lanka, several hundred people have fled to the Nazarene Church in Puttalam, where similar relief efforts are being put in place. The humanitarian situation is immense, with the most urgent need being clean water and food.

During the last three years NCM South Asia has trained over 100 leaders in disaster relief. Tens of thousands of Nazarenes, including medical personnel at the Nazarene hospital in Washim, are prepared to assist in relief efforts as supplies can be provided. "In a crisis of this immensity," said World Mission Director Dr. Louie Bustle, "We are so thankful that we already have a built-in distribution system through NCM in the local churches. Let's do our part in helping them, and in praying for God's grace to sustain our brothers and sisters as they work tirelessly to bring help and hope to the victims of this massive disaster."
