Make iSync work with the Motorola A1000
Authored by: timbomb on Dec 23, '04 11:23:42PM

I've got a Motorola a925 and I've been praying someone would work this out. Full of optimism, I just tried your tip and got soooo close... but not quite. It went through the synching sequence and cleaned up, but it popped this error and nothing, not even the address book seems to have changed:

-----
|Tim's log | There was a problem syncing Tim's log . Try syncing again.
Conduit Tim's log generated an internal error NSSyncConduitException (There was a problem syncing Tim's log . Try syncing again.): can't get synchronizer for calendars and To Do items.
Can't synchronize calendars and To Do items to Tim's log : device is not available
-----

(Tim's log is my a925)

I didn't change anything from your tip (except I changed a1000 to a925 for cosmetic convenience)... are there any known differences between the two phones? Do they need different Bluetooth IDs or locations or anything?

Tim

Make iSync work with the Motorola A1000

Yeah, I'm aware of this issue with the A925. Unfortunately for you it seems to be an A925 issue (not being compatible with the SymbianConduit bundle).

Try playing a bit more around, may be the ClassID is different, or try using the P800 parameters.

Hope this helps, but I know many people tried, and no one ever succeded.

Good luck and Happy Holidays to everyong

Thanks for the script, works like a charm, the A1000 pops up in isync and its easy to transfer files, trouble is it still won't sync address book, contacts or to do stuff what next?

Make iSync work with the Motorola A1000

Hello,

I've followed your instructions to add the a1000 to isync and it works but somehow the sync fails halfway through.

My address book on the mac has all these empty nameless contacts added to it.

I want to be able to sync contacts and my calendar

How can I get round this?

Thanks

djuro
