Add iSync/Address Book support for P908/P900 phones
Authored by: thoughton on Dec 17, '04 12:22:27PM

I'm considering getting a P910i, so I dont need any of these files yet, but I do get concerned about downloading stuff from a third party site (especially from anonymous tipsters). I have a lot more faith in MacOSXHints than some unknown stranger. Is it not possible to store these sorts of files on the MacOSXHints servers?

A secondary concern is the worry that in 6 months time when someone searches for info on how to sync his new second-hand P900 from eBay, he will find this article only to find that Mr Anonymous has stopped paying for .Mac (i.e. the crucial files will no longer be available).

Address Book support for P800 phone
Authored by: Bharat on Dec 20, '04 06:05:45AM

Hi,
SMS through Bluetooth feature is disabled by SE in P800/P900.
The same can be activated only through Firmware upgrade by SE (not any as of now) in future.
Regards

Add iSync/Address Book support for P910 phones

I've seen mixed information about the P910a with iSync'ing with iCal. Anyone know the status, and if this patch helps?

Add iSync/Address Book support for P910 phones
Authored by: jstrope on Dec 20, '04 10:16:08PM

I have a p910i and have never had any trouble synching with iSync/iCal/AddressBook. Actually, once I paired the device in the Bluetooth setup, it just worked. No hacks or anything needed. iSync saw the phone, let me add it and I sync it regularly. It only will sync via Bluetooth as far as I know. I found a useful utility called BluPhoneEite(?) that adds some nice AddressBook/CallCenter features to my laptop when my phone is within BlueTooth range.

Now if I could just find a way to use my Mac to run the SE Updater service, I would be very happy, as my Win PC running XP Service Pack 2 refuses to run the update.

Add iSync/Address Book support for P910 phones

I have just bought a P910i and discovered that isync doesn't detect the phone via USB. So i'm going to buy a bluetooth dongle, but which one are you using? I've heard that the D-Link bluetooth dongle is the one apple sell & recommend. Also, is there anything else I need to set up before it runs smoothly with ical and address book?

Add iSync/Address Book support for P910 phones

I am using the dLink module and it works great. The system (10.3) detected it fine and the Bluetooth setup wizard did the rest. Didn't have to do anything to iSync except add a new device which it found via bluetooth. The only oddity is that it did not add an icon for the phone in the iSync Toobar. The name is there so its clickable, but no icon. I have seen ways to manually add an icon, but not worth the trouble. I figured the phone was just too new and a future update to isync would fix that.
