Batch renaming digital image files.
I have never had to batch rename anything except images. And since the example mentions renaming image files, it is worthy to note that GraphicConverter can rename the images for you. It is under the "Convert/Modify" menu. I have used this several times for my digital images. It is also easy to rename the images using iPhoto.

I find the renaming in GC very slow. Thats why I am always looking for something that works fast. Mainly for my job where I am going through about 6000+ images in a day, and always need to edit a lot of filenames in batches.(wrong file names slugs, wrong extensions, illegal characters in file name that would stop other parts of our system processes) Running a script droplet for me is much quicker than opening one more Large program with all its windows and clicks and waiting for it to get its act together.
Batch renaming digital image files.
Until now, I've used an old free app called "File Renamer", whose home page and developer seem to have disappeared. I've needed to rename batches of text files, sound files, image files, web page files .... I'm very glad to see a discussion of renamers here because I have wanted something better than File Renamer ... or at least, something that's still alive and well. File Renamer has suited me well, but I'm eager to see what these others offer. |
