Use the run-parts script
Authored by: adrianm on Nov 20, '04 02:56:22AM
No need. Just put your own scripts in /etc/periodic/weekly|daily|monthly.

If you don't want to use that directory, provide a /etc/periodic.conf with overriden local_periodic setting...

(Or provide a local /etc/periodic.conf.local with overriden local_periodic setting...)

Or put scripts in your own weekly|daily|monthly directories in /usr/local/etc/periodic/ (create this directory - it doesn't exist by default)...

Or many other standard ways.

As always, don't make things hard for yourself. man periodic and man periodic.conf. RTFM.
