Postscript Level 1

I believe the problem is that Mac OS X only prints using Postscript Level 2 and the LaserWriter II NTX is a Postscript Level 1 printer. I ran into PS errors with my NTX, but found I could print through Classic using the LW8 driver.

I bought a LaserWriter IIg board from Ebay for $50, and my printer works fine through OS X.

I've got an old Personal LaserWriter NT connected to a 7500 that is running the LocalTalk Bridge (basically the same setup). Printing from my iMac or B&W in Classic works fine, but in order to print from X I save the file as a PDF. Same steps as above, 'cept you need to use the Acrobat Reader to print the PDF. I'd wondered if upgrading the printer to an NTR (PostScript II) would help. Based on what you've said here...I'm off to ebay for an NTR board!.
