A fix for a Firefox/Download Status Bar quit bug

Not sure about others, but for me, it's:
  • Speed.

  • Tab handling capabilities

  • User themable

  • Extensions -- the biggie. No other browser is so easily extensible. For me, I rely on the following:
    • Sage - RSS reader
    • DownloadStatusBar - Easily track file downloads in the bottom of the browser window
    • AdBlock - The best ad blocker, though OmniWeb's is good, too
    • Web Developer - No similar tool for any other browser; absolutely essential if you do web development work
    • ScrapBook - A decent replacement for the one IE feature I miss -- the sidebar scrapbook of interesting things
There are more that I use, and literally hundreds of others, but those are the key ones.

  • Rendering - Despite your experience, I find Firefox to have some of the better page rendering. OmniWeb is now Safari, so they behave the same. And when I tested VersionTracker with my 1.0 (non-nightly) build, it looked just fine.

  • Support for Command-Z in text boxes -- Safari won't let you undo a change in a text box, Firefox (and others, I'm sure) will.
But that's the beauty of OS X -- pick a browser you like, and be happy with it. Firefox is my first choice, Safari a close second, and OmniWeb third. OmniWeb would probably be first with just a few tweaks (please let me have a traditional tab bar again!), but for now, Firefox is my fave.

According to a recent poll, though, there are actually relatively few of us that prefer Firefox -- Safari has a commanding lead in the OS X browser market.
