I just noticed that, on a french system, you can't quit an app while command-tabbing by hitting "q". You need to hit "a" instead, which means that the french keyboard is not recognized for this...

This is a known bug with alternate keyboard layouts. Is the French A in the same position as the QWERTY Q? The same happens with the Dvorak layout. You have to enter a ' (QWERTY Q). I've submitted the bug and the response indicated that Apple knows about it and it should be fixed. I'm hoping in Tiger. I don't know why this hasn't made it into a smaller update.
