Pairing Jabra BT200 headsets with OS X
what exactly does pairing with a headset give you? a microphone/headphone combination? i mean what applications are there for using a bluetooth headset with a computer anyway? pardon my ignorance, never seen the need but you guys make it sound intriguing
Pairing Jabra BT200 headsets with OS X
My Jabra FreeSpeak BT250 works well as a headset for my phone (a Sony Ericsson P800), but also plays nicely with my 12" Powerbook. I've recently held several iChat audio conversations using it with acceptable results, considering my counterparts were using their laptops' built-in mic and speakers. (The other night my dad "called" me over iChat just after the Sox won the pennant, and I could clearly hear Tim McCarver still blathering on Fox Sports in the background (my own TV was muted).) There is low-level fuzz and noticeable compression, so you wouldn't use it to record music. Before the last round of Mac Bluetooth firmware and system updates, I often had to re-pair either the phone or the headset to my Mac in order to get them to work together, but I haven't had to do that in several months. The headset properly picks up a connection from whichever peer tries to contact it, the phone syncs perfectly with OS X, everything is peachy cool and hassle-free (iChat lets you select input and output devices independently of the general system preferences, so I don't have to fiddle around). |
