Pairing Jabra BT200 headsets with OS X
Authored by: rfrost on Oct 19, '04 12:52:47PM

I have a Plantronics M2500 which seems to have pretty much the same set of problems. Indeed, from the description, I suspect that they just may be the same units relabeled.

My problem is otherwise. I cannot seem to get the sounds routed properly. The microphone channel routes properly into the Sound Pref panel--I can see the audio bars in the Sound PrefPanel and I can use Wiretap or AudioRecorder to capture the incoming audio stream, regardless of whether or not I use the Bluetooth Serial Utility (BSU). Sadly, however, the sound-out to the earpiece doesn't happen. After successfuly pairing the unit with my PB, I've tried routing audio out both with and without BSU. When I set up the in and out channels with BSU, the Sound PrefPanel doesn't recognize them.

I bought this unit with two purposes in mind, Skype and for routing my class lectures both to the lecture hall's PA system and to an internal recording device/software (Wiretap and/or Audiorecorder). The rub seems to be in bridging the working audio-in stream to the output jack.

Any clues on this?

I have the same problem pretty much. I'm trying to use the Jabra FreeSpeak 250 with Skype on OS X. For me, the pairing goes ok, but then the headset simply does not work. I can't hear or use the mic. OS X definitely recognizes the headset as a bluetooth devide but that seems to be about it.
