Spaces: yea or nay?
Authored by: Han Solo on Oct 10, '04 12:49:07PM
As noted in the discussion of the hint itself, including spaces in a passphrase (as well as non-ASCII-127 characters, such as those created with the option key modifier) can significantly improve one's "score". But is this a good idea for an admin passphrase? Apparently not in the most recent 10.3.5 update of OS X Server (see Apple support document #108026). The last time I could find Apple warn about this issue for the OS X client is with the 10.2.3 update (#107263).

So, who can confirm or deny that spaces (or option-modified keys) cause problems with either OS X or OS X Server admin passwords? (Personally, I'm in no position to risk screwing up my system for the public good, but in light of the comments of the original hint, others may have learned (the hard way)....)
