quick improvement

I boosted my score by an extra 10 points by including a single upper-case character, or by putting in a single symbol....

My admin account has a medium-sized pwd, scoring 67 points, while my normal user account has a much shorter password that scores in the mid-fourties.

As long as you make the password a nice mix of upper/lower characters and put some symbols and numbers in, its quite easy to get a short (ie. easily typed) password with plenty of peace-of-mind.

This password assistant should be part of the 'security' pref pane.

RobG posted my tip not long ago on how to generate long but memorable passwords:

The second method I describe is the best to use if you want an easy to type but very strong password.
