Use Airport Express as ethernet to wireless bridge

Note that it will NOT behave as a standalone bridge like a WET11 or WET54 is. The only way to make it somewhat close is to get it to join using WDS. Unfortunately not all APs support it, so you may be stuck having it connect in client mode. If you join using client mode, the wired port is shut off as others have said.

I spent a couple days working with the Express because I wanted to replace my existing WET11 and wound up having to return the Express instead. It and my Aironet 1200 would only play nicely together in client mode, which was worthless for my needs.

It would be great if Apple would update the AE code to let it function as a straight bridge without requiring WDS. It would seem to be fairly trivial, and not everyone needs a base station repeater.
