As jonsaw said above, the new iMac does look rather plain; whether that was done intentionally or not.

Perhaps it's too plain. It may work with the iPod, but I don't know with a desktop computer.

Also, it doesn't seem to have a "body." I think people are used to a desktop computer to have a "body." This one seems to be all head & neck! But who knows.. it may just as well start a trend. I'm no industrial designer besides.

A more significant direction I think would've been to integrate significant touch-sensitivity to the design.. I think mice & trackpads are too indirect. Can't I just launch an app or move a window by touching & moving it (eg, on a touch-sensitive display)? (Tablets are another story of course as they're mostly for high resolution work.)

Just MHO. Regardless, I wish Apple the best with this new design.
