Panther edition of Mac OS X Hints book released...

Another comment on the "getting rich" meme. Rob says that it takes more than one book a year to make a living; well, take it from me: you need at least 4 a year, plus additional writing work, to make a living. Unless you get a real best-seller, of course, but in the computer book business, this is rare.

Sigh...

I've entertained the notion of writing a computer book and trying to get it pubished before. Out of curiosity, where do you live, and what do you consider "a living"? The ability to rent a flat in New York and afford a new G5? :-)

Heh... You're asking the atypical person. I live in a village in the French Alps.

The living I make would not pay for an apartment in NYC, but it allows me to live comfortably here - by comfortable, I don't mean extravagant.

See where I live by checking out my blog (see my sig below).

Kirk

"Power"? Why is every market person obsessed with the word "Power"? How about "Smart" or "Time Saving"? Hey, good luck with the book. Anyone who wants to do the work has a chance; (and I mean work). I hope you sell a million!

Hey, David, we're almost neighbors - I'm in Guillestre, about a half-hour south of Briancon...

good luck to you rob if you do get rich. your site has saved me many hours searching for elusive information.

i suspect you'll be asked to write more books and your time will become even more precious.

keep it at one book every 1.5 years and enjoy what you do.
