Move OS X desktop images to a cell phone
Authored by: Makoto on Sep 21, '04 12:34:58AM

No, there doesn't seem to be any software from Motorola for the Mac... and I'm not sure they have any plans to support it. :(

The cable is easy to find - I just grabbed the one that came with an MP3 player, but I've heard reports of people getting them at camera stores for less than $5. (Haven't looked, myself.)

iSync does recognize the v220, yes. But I want to be able to move pictures and ringtones to/from the phone, not sync my address books. :)

Move images and mp3s to a cell phone

Hey Makoto,
I'm in the exact same situation -- V220 phone and no software to support transfer of pics and ringtones. After perusing motorola's motocoder site for a while I've figured that I could set up my powerbook's Apache webserver to handle WAP requests, write a little WAP "webpage" with links to the media files I want to put on the phone, and then hit my powerbook's IP address from the V220. As far as transferring pics from the phone to my 'book I guess I could just email them as MMS messages. If anyone's interested I could give out my IP and put your files on my WAP server...
