Move OS X desktop images to a cell phone

If you have a USB cable for your LG or Sanyo phone, try a free program called Bitpim from http://bitpim.org. Still in beta phase, but works fairly good on my Sanyo 4100 and 8200 for transferring images, address book and sounds back and forth to my Mac. Bitpim converts images to png format, and correct size for your phone display, and doesn't always work with some images (phone doesn't like them), but worth a try. I wish it would send jpg images too.

I can't get BitPim to open a port (or whatever)... any ideas?

Sorry that I'm so vague, but this is still vague to me, too (yes, it's VERY beta).

Got it!

Before, I selected the USB Device port manually, and BitPim tried to use it, but failed.

Then, I selected "Auto", and it did the job. Good.

This is the kind of thing I've been waiting for!

Well, I thought I got it...

I've successfully gotten BitPim to download everything from my phone into my Mac, and imported it all into Address Book.

Now, should I be able to export my whole Address Book as a vCard, and import that through BitPim and onto my Sanyo 8100?

I would hope so, but at this stage, I'm not holding my breath.

Well.....this is definitely one of the better hints I've seen in awhile. A cell phone is something none of us can live without (unfortunately, I don't have one). Why do you have to do desktop pictures to download them to your phone? You should just be able to use the normal library. Read the signature.

if you must speak, speak of topics that may never be discussed again........... ....cheers, gourls
