Loop audio file snippets in iTunes
Authored by: Frederico on Sep 14, '04 12:35:01AM

Let's go ahead and add one step to turn this into an actual hint:

Once you've set your start/stop times and closed the Get Info window, rather than select the song and hit play/repeat, instead use the iTunes->Menubar->Advanced->Convert Selection to [your favorite format].

You will end up with just the defined section of the track, duplicated with same name and info, leaving your original track intact. Go turn the start/stop times off in your original track, and rename the new snippet to a unique name. Voila. Now you can either play the whole song, or just the snippet. Repeat at your discretion.

You can also use these snippets for ring tones on compatible phones, email alerts, etc.

Have fun

... and a wonderful one. I was looking so long for a possibility to snip single songs from "whole CD" tracks.

Thanks a lot
