Install a parallel printer on a Base Station
Is it that simple if you use the PowerPrint (from Infowave or wherever that product ended up) USB to Parallel cable? (i.e. no software driver needed?) Larry.

I just tried this with an HP 5M and it works great. I used a $20 parallel to USB adaptor from Micro Innovations that I bought from Wally World. Rendevouz instantly recognized it at a HP 5M (although it wanted to use generic drivers). I manually selected the HP 5M driver and it prints just fine.

I tried the micro innovations gizmo on my faithful lexmark optra ep (yes, postscript as well) but the printer tab does not show anything on the airport utility. what do i do ? any suggestions welcome. rebooting the airport beast has been tried to no avail.

Where did you buy this cable, guys/gals ? I have a beatup belkin usb-parallel printer adapter - doesnt seem to work. i have a lexmark optra ep connected to the belkin stuff usb'd into the airport extreme b.s. dont see it in the list at all. any advice greatly received including those that hint at dumping the belkin. thanks.

Well, I went to walmart and picked up this micro innovations usb/parallel thingy - wally world == walmart, duh ! Will try it out tonight. |
