much disappointed !
I'm sorry you're disappointed, though I knew some would be.
much disappointed !
Rob, do what ever is necessary to keep this site yours and allows you to pursue this as a means to support yourself and family. I much rather see this site remain in your hands with a few ads than the alternatives -- having the site die because it sucks you dry, or selling off the site to some third party that eventually kills it or turns it into some corporate mouthpiece (aka maccentral and macnn).
in anycase, KUDOS to you for making this endeavour your work... It takes a lot of courage to set aside a guaranteed source of income on the side to pursue something that you take enjoyment from and is a great asset to the community.
much disappointed !
And if I tried to do that with recruited admins, while working a full time job, the situation wouldn't improve one bit. It's just as tough to manage a team while working full time as it is to run the site myself with a full time job.Spoken like a man who's seen it before! (?) It's definitely true. Coordinating a project, especially with part-timers or less-experienced folks (good meaning as they may be) can often take more time and energy than just doing it yourself on the off-hours. And as Rob's seen (and I've experienced firsthand as well), that both takes a toll and doesn't let you get as far as you know you could if you only had more time to work.... it can be very frustrating. So FWIW, I'll join the chorus of: by all means give this a shot and see how it goes. And good luck. |
