10.1.2 fixed this
If you update your system to 10.1.2 and using the new apple keyboard, it disabled the "eject cd" function with the f12 key. If you're using an old apple keyboard, the f12 won't be disabled but you have to hold it down a couple of seconds to eject the cd.

Curiously, I didn't find the F12 "fix" to exist at all. 9.2.2 broke my F12 key with no "eject on delay." I recall reading that on MacFixIt early on after 9.2.2 shipped.

I've been using PFKey Avalier X v1.0.3, which works like the Keyboard control panel in OS 9. It works great and it doesn't bring the finder foward. |
