10.1.2 fixed this

If you update your system to 10.1.2 and using the new apple keyboard, it disabled the "eject cd" function with the f12 key. If you're using an old apple keyboard, the f12 won't be disabled but you have to hold it down a couple of seconds to eject the cd.

Curiously, I didn't find the F12 "fix" to exist at all. 9.2.2 broke my F12 key with no "eject on delay." I recall reading that on MacFixIt early on after 9.2.2 shipped.

This is with an Apple Pro Keyboard, G4 DP 450 Tower (gigabit).

Since I sometimes use my Apple Extended II keyboard, circa 1995, with the G4 (with an iMate adaptor) this has concerned me, but haven't used the old keyboard for awhile, plus rarely am in 9.2.2 anymore.

I've been using PFKey Avalier X v1.0.3, which works like the Keyboard control panel in OS 9. It works great and it doesn't bring the finder foward.

I've got a complaint with the new 9.2.2, it disabled the command + F1 combination, which would put the display to sleep on a Powerbook. Does anyone know how to get this back?
