The DVD possibility

If you do lots of installs then a DVD copy of the install disks can be helpful. There are no changes of disks, and it is much faster even if you account for the disk change time. You will need a DVD writer to create the DVD.

You create a DVD installation from the regular CDs using a utility called Slippy. I havn't tried this utility.

Or, if you can get a hold of an original DVD install disk (from one of the newer machines) then just copy the DVD using Toast.

Either way, to install, startup off the DVD in the drive by holding the C key down during startup.
