Why use stuffit ?

I prefer using stuffit ... It gives me the feeling using a mac. Moreover when I would be archiving platformSpecific things It's easy: I use .sit for preOSXstuff, sitx for OSX stuff, zip for pc, tgz for linux: it's hard to tell what OS "Application.zip" is intended for if everybody starts using .zip

I'm with you. I prefer using Stuffit when I can. I think it makes some archives smaller than .zip. Though in the cross-platform world I work in, I often just right-click and zip it.

But Stuffit Deluxe has another trick that's even better! Stuffit Express PE gives you the ability to automate, stuf and ftp/copy/move/etc. files with a drag to an icon. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot. It's kind of like the new automation feature Apple's adding to Tiger. Though not as intuitive.
