Automated StuffIt Deluxe 8.0 compression

I also have to say that this is an old function mentioned in the documentation since StuffIt 7 or even earlier.
But I still use StuffIt very often. It has some advantages that MacOS X Software doesn't have. I use StuffItDeluxe with the MagicMenu - that's the easiest way to stuff something. Just select the file(s) in Finder and press the Shortcut <cmd>+<s> (Stuff) or <cmd>+<opt>+<3> to make a ZIP archive. NO need to open an extra application or add a suffix or open the contextual menu. All a click away. To unstuff any compressed file just press <cmd>+<u>

ZIP-Archives are also known on window machines: yes. But if there's WinZip installed to Zip and UnZip, WinZip will also recognize SIT-Archives.

One more point:Let's take a 6,2 MB File for example:

ZIP (Panther contextual menu): 2,4 MB
SIT (best compressin level): 2,1 MB
SITX (best compression level): 1,9 MB

DMG-Files are often used and I also like them for distributing software, but it's a much more work to make a (compressed!) DMG-File instead of pressing just <cmd>+<s> ;-)
