Isn't it simpler to put an alias to the apps folder in the root level directory, then keep the apps wherever you feel like it?
Relocate the Applications folder via NetInfo
It is much simpler to put an alias in there to your new location for Applications. Until an installer looking for a FOLDER named Applications decides to replace your alias with a new Apps fodlder. It's rude, but it happens. And since you have to authorize installers that install to the Apps folder, it has permission to delete it even if you try to protect it. |
