A fix for annoying mplayer full-screen mode switch
Authored by: elmimmo on Jul 21, '04 03:42:09PM

Well, I do appreciate the resolution change because my iMac DV 400 can't handle some DivX at normal resolution. One thing that bugs me, though, is that the screen is displaced to the right efectively hiding about 1 or 2 cm of image. I thought about manually changing resolutions so that I could adjust the geometry prefs of the screen prefpane, but it does not seem to be 640x480 or 800x600, because if I manually access those my screen is perfectly centered.

Does anyone how to solve this?

Try setting the resolution manually and then use the fast-fullscreen enabled version of MPlayerOSX. This should do the trick.

Hide the dock first? You might have to hide it before opening MPlayer, I'm not sure.

If you use f instead of Command-f to switch to fullscreen this should not be neccesary.
