A shutdown dialog shortcut for PC keyboards

much to my chagrin, this is the case.

i have a belkin omniport 4pt usb kvm hooked to my b/w G3 400 running os9, and two dells.

a double-tap of scroll lock and a numeral (1-3 in my case) will switch to another machine--from the p.c.s.

from the mac, if i time it just right, the first tap brings up the shutdown dialog, and the second escapes out of it; then the numeral will switch to the chosen machine.

however, if i do *NOT* time it right, the first tap brings up the shutdown dialog, the second tap does nothing, the numeral switches to another machine, and when my dialog times out (ala okeydokey pro), my mac shuts down :(

needless to say, when i'm on the mac, i usually just reach down and hit the hardware button on the kvm to switch.

if it aint broke, break it!

On more than one occasion -- when I have spilled coffee onto my keyboard -- I have instantly, automatically and intutitively hit Control-Z. Has yet to work. I'm not being silly; I really have. And I've shared the story with others who have said, "Me, too!" Gotta get a life...[/code]

I do that all of the time, in general life. Any time I do something wrong, I just [mentally] Cmd-Z it.

I once did an even better(?) thing. I'm a teacher, and get really used to using a whiteboard and markers to explain stuff, so I was explaining something to my girlfriend, and I took my whiteboard marker out of my pocket and looked for something to write on...
