Install the Logitech MX900 Bluetooth mouse
Authored by: xAndyx on Jun 25, '04 06:43:17PM

I just picked up one of these mice as well, and am enjoying it despite a couple hitches initially. I've had no tracking issues like some people have. I do wish there was a battery off switch, so I'll just reverse the batteries when I'm carrying it in my laptop bag.

First, for some reason I couldn't get Expose to initially bind any mouse buttons to "Show Desktop." I could select a button, but nothing would happen. I tried the suggested Gamepad software mentioned here, but that seemed a bit clunky. So I tried the simple thing that I should have from the start: remove the BT device, and shut down my laptop, then reboot. After doing this, everything worked fine.

Second, at first the batteries seem to be dieing and charging really quickly. I know the manual says that it takes a few charges to build up capacity, but this seemed very extreme. The first charge was completed in about 15 minutes, and lasted for about an hour. Anyways, I'll see how it goes. Worst case I'll just use other rechargable batteries.

Oh and to help people figure out which button is numbered what for Expose, here's the breakdown:

Button 1: Left Mouse Button
Button 2: Right Mouse Button
Button 3: Wheel Click
Button 4: Left Side Arrow Button, pointing towards you
Button 5: Left Side Arrow Button, pointing away from you
Button 6: Switch Windows Button
Button 7: Double Arrow Button, pointing away from you
Button 8: Double Arrow Button, pointing towards you

Hope this helps.
