Redirect new Mail.app mail to gmail (or any service)
Authored by: richardmitchell on Jun 22, '04 05:43:09PM

I've been doing this for a while. Redirecting email "usually" works, but I have had problems.

I redirect (after filtering out the garbage) my work email (from a mac) to my home (also a mac). If the redirected mail has any mime encoding, then all I get is an attachment. I then have to open with "other" and select Safari.

I know it is the redirecting that is trashing my mail because I check my .mac account from both work and home. When I get something at work through the .mac account, it then gets redirected to my home address. The copy that I get at home directly from .mac looks ok. The one that got redirected is just an attachment.

Redirect new Mail.app mail to gmail (or any service)

I *just* figured out why entourage was mucking up my mail. Entourage doesn't like to talk to my Domino IMAP server at work, so I've been having mail.app check my Notes account and redirect all mail to that account to my .mac account. Plain text mail gets through fine but anything with formatting gets screwed up and only shows up as a mime-attachment. Oddly enough, that email is messed up in both mail.app and Entourage.

Anyone have a fix?
