Odd OS X Samba to Linux issue and workaround
Authored by: KonradK on Jun 09, '04 01:13:25PM

I had a similar problem after upgrading from DAVE 5.0 to version 5.0.1 runing OS 10.3.3. Before the upgrade I could connect without problem to a Linux file server using an alias defined in my /etc/hosts file. After the upgrade, I could not connect, but when I replaced the alias with the full path name in the server address window, I could again connect without problem. In contrast, Windows file server aliases still work after the upgrade.

After the upgrade I contacted Thursby to report the problem and they replied with a few suggestions that did not help. I then found the simple work around and reported this to Thursby, but they have so far not responded to my last message.

Yes, I found very little of help, even googling for "error -43" :(
