Tunnel TCP over AppleTalk
Authored by: Anonymous on Dec 25, '01 04:06:40AM
MacIP can be used, via IPNetrouter, when there's no ethernet card about. I did this some years back with my trusty SE, worked fine. Even had EIMS running on it, and handling my SMTP needs. Only problem was when some dufus sent a beefy attachment. Watching it tunnel over MacIP was painful, to say the least. But it worked. Dunno offhand if IPNetShare (the X equivalent of IPNR) works with MacIP, but it might. If nothing else you can let an old Quadra play router between the ethernet and AppleTalk networks.
