There is nothing Apple can do. rm is a well documented UNIX command and every UNIX user is familiar with it. Besides MacOS X is a UNIX based system there are many ways to accomplish just about any task. If I wanted to delete all your files there are many ways to do it without using rm.

It is indeed stupid to suggest that people should not be warned about such dangers - which leads me to ask if there is any particular reason why the rationale behind your warning about "rm -rf .*" is left as an exercise? Surely it would be more helpful to explain why not to do it? I'll try it now and post an explana
