Dial the phone from the Address Book
Authored by: Venturia on May 03, '04 03:36:44PM

I don't object to shareware, but I still think it's sad to have to pay for something that should be part of the OS.

Something on Windows OS not on Mac??? How can this be possible!

Steve?

Dial the phone from the Address Book

if you have a bluetooth phone address book can dial it for you.

Thanks for the reference to the applescript osax. I recompiled so it could take a 150 character string and now have been able to transfer all my esoteric number-changing-authorizing-deauthorizing dialing numbers and sequences to address book.

Every tool is missing something or, as is often the case with Windows, too much of the wrong thing. However, no company can make everything for everyone. That is why extensibility is so important. When people like Jon make a product like the one he made, then he fills a gap and a need and should be paid for it. Perhaps he will even follow the path the makers of Watson did and make something better than Apple normally would.

And, like the makers of Watson, when Apple makes something that people like you, and myself, feel should already be in the operating system, Jon will have a choice to make. He will either decide that he can do it better and Apple and people will buy it or decide it is not worth a risk to his time.

So, I applaud Jon for being an entrepreneur. He excellent use of AppleScript Studio to build an excellent little application. I am considering purchasing it and comparing it to other options.

Windows because I have to. OS X because I want to.
