HFS+ to non HFS+ volumes?
Authored by: scrofa on Apr 23, '04 12:34:19PM

In order for HFS+ to be supported, the Macosxlabs (Kevin A. Boyd) version of rsync must be installed on both computers being synced. Excerpt from rsyncX readme:

In order for this version of rsync to work and preserve HFS+ permissions, at least this version of /usr/local/bin/rsync must be installed on every machine that will be involved in the rsync. Check by typing "rsync --version" on all machines before starting, if unsure.

Please note however that while you gain some features by doing this (resource fork and HFS+ compatibliity), you also lose some features by dropping the native rsync.
