A free perl/rsync backup script

Actually, this has already been done. It's called rdiff-backup. It's been around for awhile, so it's very stable. I use it all the time to back up my home directory.

I would recommend rdiff-backup over rsyncbackup, simply because the latter is still at version 0.1 and not fully tested. No sense risking your data to an untested program.

rdiff-backup looks cool, but I guess it will not support resource forks, and therefore be useless to many.
