I am in desperate need for some PRANKS to play on my fellow Mac-using friends!

I would LOVE to see some ideas here!

There are a few here as well, mostly involving SSH access to others' machines. -rob.

You could always install belch on their computers. ;)

If you have physical access to their machine, albeit brief, you can type a quick Control-Option-Command-8 and stroll away. For added effect, be sure to draw their attention to the change with a, "Dude, I think your screen's broken or something!"

Check the Universal Access prefs panel; it reverses the screen, and it looks *really* weird.

But what does this do? My husband would kill me if I couldn't get out of it!

Photoshop prank

  • Take a screenshot of their desktop exactly as you find it
  • Open the file in Photoshop
  • Rotate canvas 180 degrees
  • Hit 'F' to toggle view modes; leave them in full-screen and hit 'tab' to remove all palettes
  • Should take them a few minutes to figure out :)
