How's it run on a G3?

I'm thinking of doing this hack to run FCE on my 800mhz iBook G3. How's the performance?

How's it run on a G3?

I have been hacking this for a while version 3.0 of final cut pro, here is the deal, Apple Was smart blocking the G3 from this app, the engine is really designed for the G4 V. engine. The performance is poor on a G3 ANY G3, sure you can run it with 0 RT effects and very stalled out video. I would honestly not waste your time doing this hack, As much as I love my G3 ibook 800, it's not made for this type of use, it's time to move on with the old and go with a g4 for any video editing, I talk to people all day that tell me how great a g3 is for editing video, they just don't know any better. Apple knows what they are doing when they put those limits on the software.
<p>
P.S. if you do this it will stop working with every OS update and every FCE update you install. and as for iChat you can hack your machine Open Firmware to get it to work but again the performance sucks, remember the reason for the cut off is the 66mhz system bus all the 500 and below carried, the 600+ had at least 100 mhz bus.

Hope this helps.
