Fax with a Bluetooth GSM (Nokia 6600) in Panther
I use my Titanium to dial my SE Z600 (not the 6600) to connect to the internet via GPRS with AT&T. Works fine.

My setup is just the same as above except I have a T616. What do I choose. When I choose one of the settings (eg serial port 2), the phone starts to dial for a second but then stops and the fax goes to a hold mode.
One answer to Nimitz question.
To answer your last question Nimitz, go to Print Setup Utility, and from one of the pull down menus, choose Fax List. From there you can select/unselect and delete fax profiles.

on this page at oreillynet.com, some users indicate that you must contact your phone service provider to enable faxing. For t-mobile (my provider), it would be an additional $9.99/month. Not worth it to me.

I believe you have to have a different type of account to do this. There are two ways to connect to the internet via a GSM phone. One is dialing over GSM, the other (GPRS) just sends packets. From what I understand, when you "dial" you are actually using a remote modem out there somewhere. Your account has to be flagged to be able to do this. |
