Fixing a non-functional numeric keypad
Authored by: LC on Mar 17, '04 02:21:31PM

This (turning off Mouse Keys) helped my issue as well ... using the Pro (USB)
Keyboard plugged into an iBook. But I've noticed some things --

(1) When I tried to use the numeric keypad with Mouse Keys enabled, it would tend to disable mouse down (clicking) after that. Not knowing what was going on, the only way I knew to clear that condition was to press <CMD><OPT><ESC> (which brings up the force Quit dialog), and then click-to-close that dialog window ... after that, input again works o.k. until the next goof;

(2) Pressing <OPT> 5 times in succession is a handy way to enable or disable Mouse Keys;

(3) Role of the "num lock" key is a bit confusing ... (is it "clear", or
num lock, does it need a modifier key press to be num lock instead of
clear, etc.) ... not a big deal, but I found some text from Apple concerning
the num lock here -- http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25682

Larry.
