10.3: Recreate the Go -> Documents Finder menu option
Authored by: Voltboy on Mar 17, '04 11:28:54AM

Hello, I saw this tip and thought my prayers had been answered because I wanted to recreate the Go->Favorites menu item from Jaguar as I (and all our office) like to put our AFP servers (File Server and other people's Drop Boxes - along with the passwords saved in the Keychain to faciltate instant opening) into the Favorites folder so that to connect to any of them all you need to do is select Go->Favorites->"AFP Server Name".

So I tried to edit the file talked about on this thread by adding the following;

<object class="IBCarbonMenuItem" id="852">
<string name="title">Favorites</string>
<object name="submenu" class="IBCarbonMenu" id="853">
<string name="title">Favorites</string>
<array count="1" name="items">
<object class="IBCarbonMenuItem" id="854">
<string name="title">Item</string>
</object>
</array>
</object>
<ostype name="command">GoFa</ostype>
</object>

Using the Go->Recent Folders section of the code as a guide - but unfortunately all that appears in the submenu is an item labelled "Item" and not the contents of the Favorites folder.

Does anyone know how to add the Favorites menu item to the Go menu AND have it with a sub-menu that shows all the items contained within?

I tried looking at how Jaguar implemented it but it is all in a RSRC file and not in a menu.nib file :(
