G5 keyboard fails on certain Belkin Omniview KVM switches
Authored by: srparker on Mar 14, '04 11:19:31AM

By the way, it appears that the failure may be related to Belkin's SOHO USB KVM (at least in the case of using Natural Keyboards from Microsoft).

If you read their support site, they support ONLY keyboards at are 107 key (I'm not about to count all the buttons on the Wireless Optical Desktop Pro that I want to use for my Macs and my one PC.)

But... Following excellent suggestions in this thread, I plugged a garbage mouse (I have to find a non-optical one so this one will stop blinking at me) into the Keyboard port, and plugged the Keyboard into a USB Hub that's plugged into one of the USB ports.

EVERYTHING works now, including the funky media control buttons, the buttons that open various apps, and I'm happy.

Thanks for providing the solution to a "bug" that Belkin refuses to acknowledge publicly....

Steve
