Create scalable, masked, resizable icons in Photoshop
To take it a step further to create .icns files. Simply drop .png or .jpg (or .psd) files onto the IconComposer window. ( /Developer/Applications/Utilities/Icon Composer )

I tried IconComposer a few weeks ago, and I couldn't figure out what to do with my icns file. Now that I've got it, what do I do with it? It doesn't even have the darn icon, just a generic Apple ICNS icon!

.icns files are generally used by developers. However, if you want to edit the icons of any Cocoa application (or Carbon .app application) you can, since they use .icns files inside the bundle to define the icon. |
