my ibook g4 (using linksys wireless router) won't automatically reconnect to the wirelss LAN on waking from sleep. I did set the network configs like ragamuffin's note, but I still have to manually reattach to the wireless network after wake.

It's annoying. If a wired cxn automatically reactivates when waking, then shouldn't the wireless one as well?

If anyone's interested in this topic, I figured out how to have my g4 ibook automagically reattach to my wireless LAN. It was all about choosing 'Automatic' in the By default, join: for the Airport configuration in the Network applet.

Since at home my ibook sees several neighbors' WLANs, I thought I should select 'A specific network' there and choose my SSID. that was a mistake. I changed it to Automatic and boom, every time I open the lid, I'm right back on my home WLAN, no prob.

Yes! This is exactly the solution...I've been bashing my head into this since upgrading to Panther a couple of weeks ago. I too had it configured for a specific network because of neighboring WLANs, but automatic was the way to go :-) Thanks so much!!
