I was going to suggest he try, as I've heard there are more Macs running OS9 than X, though that's probably overly harsh.

Seriously, though, is there any problem with hooking up a couple friends and buying a family pack for $200? Get 5 people and the per CPU cost is only $40. That way you're still supporting Apple with a legitimate license, and saving money, too.

Supporting Apple, yes. Legitimate license, no. The five licenses have to be used by related individuals living in the same house, as I recall...
