How to set up an IOGear USB Print Server
Authored by: edman on Feb 16, '04 07:08:04AM

Thanks for sharing the process... without this instructions there was no way I would had gotten my usb print server to work. I am using the Hawkings print server and it sound that overall it is easier to installed than the IOgear one (once you read the Gimp-print instructions). I am running Jaguar 10.8 on a PB Ti 1Gz and the Hawkings setup is nice because you can access the server with the internet broser (i used explorer to ensure compatibility). Now my Canon S600 is up an runing (using the S800 drive as the S600 is not directly supported) and I am able to use it from both my "work" IBM T41 W2K and my "home" Ti.

Ed, How did you get the Hawking print server to work?! I have tried and tried to set the IP address of the printserver using an ethernet cable and opening terminal and using the arp command to set an IP address (in the same range as the ethernet port) to the print server's MAC address. I am going to give up on this thing! Their tech support couldn't make it work. The Apple guy at CompUSA couldn't make it work. Any help appreciated..
